MICROPLATE SEALERS

Microplate sealer is a tool that manually, semi-automatically or automatically places a seal over a microplate, protecting the wells from outside contamination. Used in medical, educational, and research labs, microplate sealers can be helpful anywhere microplates are used. There are several types of seals that can be used, including clear, aluminum based, permanent, removable, and sterile or non-sterile seals.

The size of microplates and types of seals it uses are important in choosing a microplate sealer. Other things to consider are sealing speed and if the plates are hand-fed, automatically put through, or can be done either way.
